Art Galleries At Richmond Valley

The wonderful setting of the Richmond Valley has attracted artists and artisans from many parts of Australia. Most of their works are inspired from the beauty of nature of this place. The galleries and art centres are located mostly around the countryside, beside rivers and on hills.

The art galleries are quite important from the perspective of tourism in this region. The tourism department promotes them such that it attracts more and more crowds and artists get recognition for their hard work.

Different types of display centres

The Platypus gallery displays innovative shows with a wide variety of art works. It is the only gallery of the area where the exhibits are shown and sold. The gallery hosts a number of exhibitions to support and encourage young talents and improve on their capability. It also organizes annual art competitions and sells a range of produced arts and crafts, cheering financial and artistic activities within the region.

The Platypus gallery is located in Centre Street at Casino New South Wales and you can call on (02) 6662 3566 to avail more details. It is open on all 7 days from 9 am to 4 pm and closed only on Good Friday and during Christmas.

The Roxy gallery displays rich wall hangings of natural wonders, features brilliant kaleidoscope of regional artists and exhibitions to upgrade the young talents. It provides an opportunity to the local artists to showcase their work and a chance to sell their creations.

The Roxy gallery is located in the Summerland Way at Kyogle, New South Wales. The entrance is free and it is open from Tuesdays to Fridays, 10 am to 4 pm and Saturdays from 9.30 am to 12 pm.

The Paperbark gallery holds a rich display of Australian art, woodwork, works of pottery, glassware, works of calligraphy and a large portion of its exhibits consists of handicrafts and cards.



This gallery is located in the Canberra Road, New South Wales in the art and industry estate of Australia. The gallery is open on Tuesdays to Fridays and Sundays from 10 am to 4 pm.

The Jambama art centre includes works of professional artists with quality paintings, original artworks and other inspired products which also reflects its regional talent. It is located in the Casino Drive of the industrial estate of New South Wales.

The Keith Cameron Sculpture Park contains creations crafted by individuals that would serve generations to come. This place of class is located in the picturesque valley of the Upper Clarence in the Plains Station Road, New South Wales.
