Who would have guessed a humble Art Prize created for the Bentley Hall’s 50th year celebrations would still be going strong more than two decades later?
To celebrate the success of the Art Prize the Platypus Gallery situated at the Casino Visitors Information Centre is exhibiting 12 of the best art works acquired by Richmond Valley Council and the Richmond-Upper Clarence Regional Library over the last 24 years of the Bentley Art Prize.

Casino Beef Week gets the go ahead for 2009. |
|
Claim the dates. Casino Beef Week 2009 has been given the go ahead and the proposed dates for 2009 are 26th May to 2nd June, 2009.
The decision to go ahead was made at this week's monthly committee meeting which reviewed the 2008 festival which was held after a year's break. The AGM is to be held on August 18 at 7pm at the Casino RSM Club.
Casino Beef Week President, Col Sullivan said early figures show that the 2008 festival would likely make a small profit and with the pledge from Country Energy to be naming-rights sponsor for a further three years the festival is on a firm footing for 2009 and beyond.
